Prizes 2008
The following prizes are awarded in the 2008 Design Out Crime Awards for designs for products with significant 'Design Out Crime' properties as assessed by the judging panel:
$1,250 First Prize to the Park Friend by Asa Jonasson
$500 for 2nd place to Tagless - Automatic Graffitti Detection System by Tele Tan
$250 for 3rd place to No Climb Bin by Jenny Loqvist

The prizes (cheques) will now be awarded on Tuesday 10th February from 3.00pm at Curtin University, Building 201, at a function on the 4th Floor. This function will include a Designing Out Crime Exhibition of the entries and other international product designs which have been developed to reduce opportunities for crime.
All of the submissions to the competition were of high standard and we would like to complement both the winners and all that submitted Design Out Crime solutions.
The 2008 Design Out Crime Awards were sponsored by the Office of Crime Prevention and Curtin University of Technology as part of a Design Out Crime research project to investigate how much design companies and design schools in Australia are aware of Designing Out Crime in the product design processes.
